Imran Afzal is the Founder and Managing Director of Worth The Squeeze Ltd. He brings over 25 years of experience in the food sector, including R&D strategy development, overseeing hundreds of product launches, leading quality initiatives, and launching a brand across major supermarkets. He is known as an open innovation leader, having worked successfully with universities and start-ups in Europe. His extensive experience includes leadership roles at Tesco, Sainsbury's, and Asda, where he developed and launched private label products in various categories. He also led R&D and technical functions at a gluten-free start-up, scaling the business and creating a factory on a brownfield site.
Imran holds an MBA from the University of St Thomas and a Master of Food Science from the University of Minnesota. He is a qualified food scientist and member of the Institute of Food Science and Technology.
